  • 5-6 cups fresh broccoli florets cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 6-8 slices crispy bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small red onion thinly sliced or diced
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup raisins or dried cranberries

Dressing Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise regular or light
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • to taste salt and black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Wash and cut the broccoli into small bite-sized florets.
  • Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, then drain on paper towels and crumble.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, white vinegar, granulated sugar, salt, and black pepper. Let the dressing chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the broccoli florets, crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, red onion, sunflower seeds, and raisins.
  • Pour the dressing over the salad mixture and toss gently until all ingredients are well coated.
  • Transfer the salad to a serving dish and garnish with extra bacon or sunflower seeds if desired.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
